My Story

A lifelong love of science and biology led me to my first career in Bacteriology and Molecular Biology, in which I studied the tiniest of organisms. Over time, I became intrigued by the idea of learning about  people, the most complex of all living things. In medical school, I was introduced to Psychiatry and discovered the profession I had been searching for all along.  As a psychiatrist, I use my understanding of medicine as I evaluate the interactions of physical illness and psychological symptoms.  I use my scientific expertise to design rational medication treatment regimens and monitor for drug interactions.  But I use my heart and soul as well as my mind, when I am with my patients.

It is a great privilege to have people share their innermost thoughts, dreams, hopes and fears with me.  I learn something from my patients every day and I am honored to be part of their lives.

Our Group 

Levine, Risen and Associates is a multi-disciplinary group with broad experience in mental health care delivery.  Several members of the group have decades of experience dealing with sexual problems and concerns of all types.  Other members of the group provide couples counseling, family counseling, and group therapy. We also have therapists experienced in treating children and adolescents.
